Diploma In Law (Level 4)

Level 4 Diploma in Law - 12 Months - 120 Credits 

This Level 4 Diploma in Law introduces learners to the fundamental structures and processes of the English legal system. Students will develop critical research and academic writing skills tailored for legal contexts. Core substantive law topics—contracts, business, public, and criminal law—are examined through case studies and statutory interpretation. Emphasis is placed on analytical thinking, ethical awareness, and clear legal argumentation. Graduates will be equipped to progress into paralegal roles, further legal study, or related professions.

Entry requirement

For entry into Level 4 Diploma in Law, learners must possess the following:

* Relevant/Local Board of Examination Result in your Country, which must include at least 5 'C' Grades in English and 4 other subjects.

* Mock Examination Result can also be accepted for initial Conditional Admission, pending the release of the Board of Examination Result. (This is assessed on a case by case basis)

* Learner must be 18 years or older at the start of the Course.

OR

* Mature Learners (21 years or older) with work experience in supervisory, leadership or management roles. (This is assessed on a case by case basis).

Level 4 – Academic Writing And Research Skills For Law

Students develop techniques for locating legal authorities, interpreting legislation, and critically evaluating judgments. Emphasis is placed on constructing coherent, citation-accurate essays and reports.

This unit introduces company law fundamentals, including incorporation, corporate governance, and director duties. Learners assess regulatory frameworks and the legal obligations of commercial entities.

Level 4 – Contract Law

Covering offer, acceptance, consideration, and intention to create legal relations, this module investigates how binding agreements are formed and enforced. Remedies for breach and defences to performance are also studied.

This module addresses the definition of offences, actus reus and mens rea requirements, and common defences. Students review landmark cases to understand how statutes and precedents shape criminal liability.
